IFCEM 2018 Showcase

The International Fire Conference and Exhibition Malaysia 2018 (IFCEM 2018) at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Center from 27-29 March 2018 was a great success with the participation from local, regional and international industry players. It was launched by the YB Tan Sri Hj Noh Bin Hj Omar, the former Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Malaysia.
Following the successes of IFCEM 2012 and 2015, this 3rd event has provided another round of platform for local and regional industry key enablers from fire fighters to building safety regulators to participate in sharing, exchanging and addressing the current challenges and unlocking innovative solutions which leads to the best practises in the application of fire safety, fire and rescue services, disaster management and humanitarian operations.
IFCEM 2018 was jointly organized by the Fire & Rescue Department Malaysia, Malaysia FIre Protection Association and the Institution of Fire Engineers (UK) Malaysia branch under the leadership of former Director General of Fire & Rescue Department Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Hj Wan Mohd Nor Bin Hj Ibrahim together with YAS Datuk Mohammad Hamdan Bin Hj Wahid as Chairman of the IFCEM Secretariat and Tun Md Hilman bin Abd Rashid as the Treasurer. Various committees comprising of FRDM Divisional Heads were set up to organize the Exhibition, Conference, Logistics and other aspects of the 3-day Exhibition and Conference. MFPA Exco members were part of the main organizing committee and also the Exhibition and Demo Committee which was headed by Dato’ Rusmani Bin Muhammad as Chairman and Mr Danny Cheah as Co-Chairman.
The Conference was attended by more than 1000 local and international industry players, fire safety engineers, building safety regulators and consultants. It focused on the concerns and challenges of the Fire Rescue Operational Challenges, Fire Safety Issues and Challenges and Fire Science and Engineering. Papers on these subjects were given by expert and renowned scholars in their respective fields.
In conjunction with the conference, IFCEM 2018 also staged a 3-days exhibition with 130 booths to showcase state-of-the-art safety and security equipment, products and technologies. Exhibitors included key industry players from England, Italy, Germany, Japan, China, India, Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus and Malaysia.
All in all IFCEM 2018 was a resounding success in view of the numerous congratulatory messages received from participants, visitors and exhibitors.
