The International Fire Conference & Exhibition of Malaysia 2021 (IFCEM), an event organized by the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (FRDM) in collaboration with Malaysian Fire Protection Association (MFPA) and The Institution of Fire Engineers (UK) Malaysia Branch (IFE), was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) from 11th November to 13th November 2021.
The theme for this year’s event is Fire Safety: Gateway to the New Decade. It was the first time IFCEM organized a Virtual Conference and Exhibition. Majority of the exhibition was done virtually where the fire safety exhibitors presented their company and products through the online platform.
The 3-day hybrid event commenced with the opening ceremony, which was held on 11th November 2021 at Hall 6 Level 1 Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. The grand opening was officiated by YB Dato’ Sri Dr. Haji Ismail bin Haji Abd. Muttalib, the Deputy Minister Housing and Local Government, YAS Dato’ Sri Ts. Mohammad Hamdan bin Hj. Wahid, the Director General of the FRDM and YBbhg Datuk M Noor Azam bin Taib, the Chief Secretary of the Housing and Local Government Ministry and other attendees including VIP guests from the fire protection industry and high-ranking officers from FRDM. The ceremony started with speeches by YAS Dato’ Sri Ts. Mohammad Hamdan bin Hj. Wahid, Director General of the FRDM and YB Datuk Sri Dr. Haji Ismail bin Haji Abd. Muttalib, Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government, followed by the Official Launch of IFCEM 2021 with a Video Montage presentation of the event.
The local speakers for the conference presented their papers at the convention hall and the international speakers were telecasted live from their respective countries. Below is the schedule of all the speaker sessions
