Thursday, 20th January 2022 – The first TSCW- Active Wet Fire Protection (“TSCW”) meeting was held at the Malaysian Fire Protection Association office in Dataran Prima, Petaling Jaya. Mr. Alan Ho Kam Hoong the chairman of TSCW, Ms. Michelle Hah the MFPA President, Mr. Michael Toh, MFPA Technical Committee Chairman together with six other members, Mr. Chia Kam Hwang, Mr. Yap Chen Leong, Mr. Liew Jin Yi, Mr. Ray Chan Kim Bob, Mr. Jeffrey Chong, and Mr. Benjamin Ng attended the meeting which began at 10:00 a.m.
The meeting was convened to discuss matters affecting the wet fire protection system industry. The following are the topics they discussed during the meeting:
1 – BOMBA Pump Certification
A discussion regarding the testing method set out under MS 1910 and MS 2616 and its compliance methodology.
2 – Testing Facilities, Procedures and Approval.
According to the meeting, the Testing Certificate has no stated validity date, but the general validity date is 3-5 years.
3 – Suggestion and Solution.
A survey be sent to members who have been affected by the above matter and to take next steps based on the survey.
